Stubborn station wagon fire Fire raced through and totally destroyed a station wagon on Vinden Street, Friday afternoon shortly after the driver is said to have heard a noise under the vehicle's hood. The driver wasn't injured, Midland Fire Department officials say. Traffic along Vinden was snarled for a time while the Holds 'stork shower' By: M. Dunlop A stork shower was held at the home of Mrs. Jim Oakley for Mrs. Ron Robinson on Sep- tember 11. Members of Hillsdale United Church were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Reg Moore on Friday, Sept. 19. The monthly school dance was held at Moonstone School on Fridav. Sept. 19. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bell were the chaperones. After a lengthy delay, the logs ordered by Mr. Seymour finally arrived this week, enabling him to complete his buildings on the former Alex Douglas farm. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lalumiere on_ the marriage of _ their daughter in Orillia on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Lockhart and family have moved into the Alan Banbury home on the 8th Concession. Mrs. Kent Dunlop and Mrs. Kathleen Lye vacationed in the North Bay area last week for several days. Unique program set for MHC thanks to York University York University, of Toronto will be offering two full credit university courses this year at the Mental Health Center' in Penetanguishene, __ be- ginning the week of Oct. 20, The courses, basic psychology and the Sociology of Formal Organizations are to be offered to staff of the centre and the public at large and will be taught in the classroom of the centre's Administration Building. The courses are the result of consultations between York and representatives at the M.H.C. and will be of- fered as part of York's outreach program. This program is one through which York University offers credit courses in communities that do not have post University facilities but which show an interest and or a need for certain types of programs. There are no prerequisites for either course other than being eligible for University enrollment , and Dr. Open house The Community Services Team of the Mental Health Centre in Penetanguishene will be holding open house, at their new centre today and tommorrow from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.The team which is comprised of personell with specialties in various fields have just recently moved into the newly renovated what once was the former residence of the hospital Superintendant. The Community Services Team, 'hough in existence for about ten years, is less known than some other com- munity services and team member Ross Spearn says that is one basic reason for the open house. The open house will allow the public to visit and see the many types of clinical and coramunity services the team does, Harold Kaplan, Dean of Arts at York says though the courses would undoubtedly be of use to many of the staff at the centre, the program is designed for people in general and not for any particular constituency. This will mark the first time York has offered this type of course at the M.H.C. and Kaplan said he has "great hopes there will be interest in the courses and that they will be there for a number of years."' The Psychology courses will commence on Wednesday, Oct. 22 and will run on Wed- nesdays from 7:00-10:00 p.m. for 24 weeks.
