Georgian Bay Gourmet gobbled up Georgian Bay Gourmet is out of print. The 3,000 copies of the cookbook, created by five local women and released in early Sep- tember, have all sold. The book has im- mediately gone' into a second printing, says one of the co-authors, Helen DeCarli. There will be 2,500 copies coming off the press for the Christmas season. DeCarli and co- authors Jean Leavens, Anne Connell, Anne Parker and Mary Hunt are working on arranging a 5,000 to 10.000 print run for national distribution nex! vear. The second printing will have a stiffer cover. The Hudson Leavens photographs and the recipes remain the same. The proper title of the cookbook is Georgian Bay Gourmet. subtitled Entertainment. The authors have been on television and are scheduled to be on more. including the Bettv Thompson Show this morning at 11 a.m. First printing The first printing was sold in area book shops and gift stores, and in a dozen stores in Toronto. W. H. Smith has taken 150 copies for sale across the province. Hudson's Bay Company has taken 50 copies to put on shelves in its 10 major stores across .the country to test demand. Over 200 copies of the book were sold on the weekend at the Inter- national Gourmet Show held at the International Centre on Toronto's Airport Road. GILLINGHAM St. Paul's to mark its 105th anniversary St. Paul's United Church in Midland plans to mark its 105th anniversary this Sunday. It will be a special occasion for not only adherents of the church but for Rev. R. G. Gillingham, a former minister of St. Paul's. Rev. Gillingham, now of Manor Road United Church, will be guest speaker at St. Paul's 105th anniversary service of worship. He served here from 1967 to 1972. As for the church itself it has grown in size and importance in Midland since it was formed in 1875. When Midland was a small village consisting of a cluster of shacks and a couple of sawmills, it wasn't long before local Methodist ministers visited this area to conduct services in the homes of local Methodists. Later, during the pastorate of Rev. T. Dunlop (1897-1902), a new Methodist Church on King Street in Midland was completed. When finished the church, with its 100-foot bell tower, and with seating capacity for 900, stood in the heart of Midland ... a tribute to great and difficult sacrifices made by those who felt there was a real need to establish a more permanent structure that continually holding church meetings in various homes.
