Three way tie for first in Midland rec hockey Duggan's hockey club of Midland Recreation Hockey League lost their first league game Monday night when Hebner's Taxi edged them 4-3. The win gives Heb- ner's the extra two points they needed to Sonix need work Mr. Submarine Sonix vollevball team is the newest addition to Midland-Huronia Vollevball Club. Thev failed to qualify for senior B competition in Toronto Oct. 19 and because of that, they will compete in Ontario's Volleyball Association's _Inter- mediate Men's League. On Sunday, they plaved their first in- termediate tournament in Toronto and won two of their six games. Thev first played Bloor JCC and won the first game 15-11. Thev however couldn't hold onto the momentum and went down in defeat 15-9 and 15-8. The same _ thing happened in_ their second match against Davesville. The Sonix came on strong. winning their first game 15-3 but let their guard down and lost the next two games 15-12 and 15-8. Coach Peter Beeney feels that the team will need more exhibition games to help their team play, needing more work on their defensive ~ skills of blocking and digging. The tournament Sundav showed their spiking and_ serve reception had improved greatly.
