Special Notice: The Provincial Service Of- flcer will be visiting the Branch, Nov. 10, at 1;30 p.m. Centennials, Kings to battle Midland Centennials hockey club is one game out of first place. and they could very well move up into the top spot in Ontario Hockey Association Jr. C division standings with a win over Penetanguishene Kings tonight. Wednesday night's game against Oro 77's brought them one step closer to that coveted spot. Andy Zurawski headed the Midland Centennials' scoring machine with three goals and one assist Wednesday night in Oro when they _ short- circuited the 77's by a score of 10-4. Paul Hahn opened the scoring channels for Midland 4:36 into play in the first period with assists going to Noel McEachern and Ken Mugford. Then, Steve Dunn made the connection and put Midland ahead by two goals when he scored at the halfway point of the period. Assists were awarded to Al Pumputis and Andv Seeman. Next, Dale Denis put the puck in the net for Midla'id with help from Andy Zurawski and John Webb, that goal coming 11:55 into the game. While Midland was shorthanded, Andy Zurawski increased the Centennials' lead to four goals with his unassisted goal 15:48 into play. Midland was to score once more in that period, this time at 17:29 with the goal coming from Noel McEachern for his first of the game. He was assisted on that goal by Ken Mugford and Paul Hahn. About a minute later, Oro got on _ the scoreboard with a goal by Gary White from Peter Cole and Dave Cyr. Less than a minute into the second period, Midland scored on a powerplay with Andy Zurawski doing the honors. John Witzke and Dale Denis were given assists on the play. Midland expanded their lead to 7-1 at this time with a goal by Ed Cooper, assisted by Andy Seeman and Steve Dunn at 2:25 into that period. Oro scored two goals then, one at 3:17 and the other at 11:34. The first goal was awarded to Murray Hadley and the second one was scored by Gary MSS girls conclude season Midland Secondary School midget and senior girls' basketball teams played Elmvale teams in regular league play in the MSS gym, Wednesday. MSS midgets won their game against Elmvale 29-23 which gives them a four and one record for regular season play. With' exhibition games, their record sits at 11 wins and two losses. Michelle Shannon was high scorer for the midgets in Wednesday's game with 12 points. High scorers in the seniors' 55-30 win over Elmvale were Angie Pumputis with 16 points, Joanelle Bourgeois with 13 points and Tracy Vent with 12 points. MSS senior girls are undefeated in league play and have been awarded a bye game into zone two finals. New of Midland Fred Flood is Midland's new deputv-clerk.
