a aa Students raise $700 for Terry Fox Fund | Several students at Huronia Centennial School in the village took their lessons seriously recently, and a result, a charity near and dear to the heart of manv Canadians is that much richer for it. In September, two Grade Eight classes at H.C.E.S. studied 'Trpwm ph dv.er Tragedy" in their Human Relations class. Because of _ these studies, the students decided that Terry Fox was a supreme example of this kind of courage and that they would like to raise money for the Terrv Fox Marathon of Hope. The students par- ticipated in the Mac- donalds run and ran throughout the week. At that time they handed in $451.26 in pledges to the MacDonalds outlets. The group kept on running though, and held a bake sale as well. The running earned them a further $148.87 and the sale of baked goods netted them the amount of $99. "Lop money makers in the run for Terry Fox were Sheila Storey, with a total of $118 in pledges collected; Morag Davidson with a total of $94.50: Kim House who brought in $69.80; Chris Robertson with the sum of $55.26 and Lisa Lawson with a grand total of $50.40. When all the totals were in the '"'Great" 8's had raised $699.13 to be forwarded on to help in Cancer Research. Congratulations to all who took part.
