College Registrar Murray Geddes says, "She is the first College employee and, as far as I can recall, the first I met so many nice people and found the courses so interesting and helpful that I didn't want to stop." About a year ago, Casev decided to see how she could apply some of her credits towards a certificate for a College program. I teeded a couple of pecific courses so [| selected those and snrolled. "Some of the courses - I've taken were hard but I enjoyed the challenge. I found the Trends in Art course exceptionally good. A board committee will consider the Con- sumer Price Index, the Industrial Composite Index. the average of the compensation given by Ontario's 10 largest boards, averages established by the private firm Hay Associates, and the compensation given other groups falling under the SCBE. The annual salary increase will be ex- pressed as a percentage increase for the year for the Superintendent of Operations. Other positions under the new policy will be indexed to that position's salary. Recommendations must be before the board before the board's second November meeting. If the individuals involved do not like the recommended incre- ases. the board chair- man will appoint a committee to negotiate figures acceptable to both sides. Inaugural meeting Although a number of area municipalities have already held their inaugural council meetings for the next two-year term, Midland won't until next Monday night. On Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. new councillors and PUC members will be sworn into office. A reception is to follow and then it is down to business this month for the new civic Officials. * Prices applicable for January 4, 11, 18, 25 and April 5, 12, 19 departures only ' See us for details on other departures.
