Wyebridge news Christmas in the air by Liz and John Dennis With Christmas fast approaching, activities in honer of the "festive season" spring up all over. Thanks to a combined effort by the Canadian Crafts Gift Shop and Midland resident Joy Parker, Wyebridge can lay claim to having one of the most unique "festive season" ac- tivities to come along in a number of years. --Erom Dec. 16-21, inclusive, Joy will be exhibiting her collection of antique, con- temporary and foreign dolls to the general public. The exhibit will mark the first time ever that these dolls have been "out of the closet" so to speak. Joy's collection includes dolls from the late 1800s from such far away places as Japan, China, Russia and even Siam. Joy and husband Wayne are probably best known for their miniature doll creations. These dolls. are of an international flavour and it is believed that Joy and Wayne Parker are the worlds largest manufacturers of. miniature dolls. Explains Joy, "This collection has never been seen by the public before and we felt it a shame not to share it. The Children especially will enjoy the collec- tion."' Of the hundreds of dolls. to be displayed, somé of the more notables include an original Eaton's Beauty with ribbon and a thirty inch Canadian Beauty also complete with ribbon. Due to the nature of the exhibit children are asked to bring an adult. Exhibit times are Dec. 16-21, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. See you there!
