SS Sa baa a iain PRI ESPSS Report by Marjory Hammond and Bev Fitzgerald I think it is safe to say that everyone at ESPSS is looking forward to the vacation. But last week, many had something else on their minds. This was, of course, Man of La Mancha. The countless rehearsals in the last two months have paid off, as most who saw any of the three per- formances last weekend would agree that the production was a suc- cess. All those involved are to be congratulated for some fine per- formances. The next major production at ESPSS is the Christmas Concert scheduled for Thursday, December 18th. The entire music depart- ment is busy preparing for the evening. We're hoping for a very good turnout. On Monday morning, Mr. Doug Lewis paid ESPSS grade 12 and 13 Half century of happiness Mr. and Mrs. Manley Hawke of Midland celebrated 50 years of married bliss Saturday with friends and family attending a luncheon for the special occasion. Twin Lakes' Seniors defeated ESPSS, 46-36. Top scorers for Penetang were Kenneth Cascagnette, scoring 12 points. We wish all three teams the best of luck in the remainder of their season, Girls' Volleyball for ESPSS starts this week and we are looking Christmas cards circa 1840 Only the very rich could afford to send Christmas cards in the year 1840 when they were first introduced in England. In 1859 they were offered for sale to the general public. A German emigrant printer, Louis Prang, offered the Christmas card to the United States in 1875, in 20 different colours. Pe eee With the cost of mailing at the present rate, it would be ad- visable to revert back to the tradition of personal |ff | delivery of local cards. A short personal note on each card makes it so much more meaningful than just a signature. Out-of-town cards: should be mailed by gir December 11. DHAIR Gone Forever!
