Soldier, sailor, railroad man, self-taught lawyer. A great humanitarian and deeply religious. At the age of 65, when many look toward retirement, Colonel Sanders established one of the most successful businesses ever known. It was based on mutual trust and a handshake. Out of it grew the Colonel Harland Sanders Charitable Foundation. His licensees also became his friends, and spread his philosophy of integrity and value across Canada. In recent years, as friends and family spoke of retirement or even taking things easy, his only answer was: ; "Td sooner wear out than rust out." And that's what he did. If a man is measured by his accomplishments, Colonel Sanders was a giant.
