The group discussed an umbrella dental plan submitted by Maritime Life and agreed to change over from Sun Life to the new agency due to increased premium rates. The County will continue paying 100 per cent of the premiums and the new plan will go into effect January 1. Russell Cooper of Rama Township welcomed the newest members to County Council, Messrs. Brander, Douglas Day, Bev. Day, Glassford, Hatton, Moreau, Wales and Telford. Also welcomed was Mrs. Kathe Jans. Warden Fennell welcomed the group as did Mr. E. Miller who gave instructions on proper procedure in the Chamber as in- formation to incoming members as well as incumbents who needed the reminders. All were presented with County maps and crests. About 80-100 volunteers in Midland- For those who have served Penetanguishene area help bring meals to shut ins that might otherwise find it inconvenient to prepare a meal. The program has been running in this area for seven years and this was the first time this group had ever gotten together on a social note. The dinner was sponsored by the Hospital Board. Percival James McConnell, born in Randolph Ontario Jan. 7, 1880, was the son of James McConnell and Margaret Ann (Downer) McConnell. Mr. McConnell resided in Randolph, Midland and then Elmvale. He was pre-deceased by his wife, the former Rose Grigg in 1968 and his son Douglas in 1972. He leaves to mourn his passing, one daughter Doris (Mrs. Lloyd Widdes of Midland) and five grandchildren. Goderich, Stayner and Midland attended the service and flowers were received from Elmvale Minor Hockey Association. "owner" and "registered owner"' are defined in the Act as follows: "owner" includes a mortgagee, tenant, execution creditor, a person entitled to a limited estate or interest in land, a committee of the estate of a mentally incompetent person or of a person incapable of managing his affairs, and a guardian, executor, administrator or trustee in whom land is vested; 'registered owner" means an owner of land whose interest in the land is defined and whose name is specified in an instrument in the proper Land Registry of Sheriff's office, and includes a person shown as a tenant of land on the last revised assessment roll; 3. The expropriating authority, each owner who notifies the approving authority that he desires a hearing in respect of the lands intended to be expropriated and any owner added as a party by the inquiry officer are parties to the inquiry.
