_ Hobart folks on the mend by Beulah M. Barr Congratulations to Phil King who celebrated his birthday Dec. 10, 1980. Greetings and salutations to everybody as one and all swing into the festive season. Let us all take time -to count our blessings amidst the hurry and rush and bustle. Let us be thank- ful and above all, let us have peace. Allan Wright and other employees of Snider Drilling Ltd. are working in the Bolton area drilling wells. Cliff Lockhart is an employee of the Provincial Road San- ding Dept. in the Midhurst area. Keeping the roads sanded can be a steady occupation some winters. Mrs. F. Smith of London spent a few days with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon A. Smith and their sons. Lee and Scott Toole of Midland spent 2 weeks with the Smiths while their mother Gloria was hospitalized. She un- derwent surgery a few weeks ago and has returned home as have her two sons. Mrs. F. Smith assisted her daughter for a week before returning to London. Gloria is much improved in health and glad to be home before Christmas. Sidney Clarke, of Orillia,.is getting along fine and his son Donald of Orillia is still con- valescing and receiving therapy thrice weekly at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, on the crushed foot and leg he suffered sometime ago at work. Progress is always tardy with such an in- jury but sure and slow wins the race. It is hoped it will all be but a memory before too long. Leo Berthelotte, of Barrie, is progressing well at his home. He underwent surgery a short time ago. Glad to report Mrs. Donald Clarke § of Orillia, is convalescing at home following surgery three weeks ago. The Clarkes and Berthelottes were former residents of this area. James Barr suffered a head injury some days ago when a tree he was felling swerved and a branch struck him on the head, resulting in a concussion, lacerations and vision impairment. But with stitches ap- plied by Dr. E. Stone of Coldwater and X-rays he was soon on the mend. Also, assisting a lady in distress whose car decided to sashay sideways on the 5th hill, along with Cliff Lockhart and Jim Jr., he then had _ the misfortune to have both feet leave terra firma and suffered a bad fall on the ice.
