Mr. and Mrs. Hank Duits and family were guests at the wedding of Claus Parade for the 5th year. On Dec. 13 1975 Santa Claus came to the village on the old fire truck. He met the children at the school and gave out around 300 bags of dance draws arear Cindy McNiven and Larry Giffen at Sun- nidale Corners Presbyterian Church. The reception followed at Minesing Community Centre. Mrs. Gordon Giffen and Mrs. Eric Ball attended a funeral in Christmas visitors by Eleanor Edwards and Mrs. Carol Graham Visitors last Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Clare McKeown were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Barnett of Willowdale. Visitors during the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stone were Mr. and Mrs. Laymers and family of Burlington and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stone and family of Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Paul .. Allems of Brooklin visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ken Robinson last Thursday and Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Curry of Wyebridge visited on Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Manley Edwards. During the White Gift Service on Sunday morning at the Vasey United, approximately 50 children took part in presenting the Christmas Story, in song and pantomine. After a tasty lunch, despite the lack of electricity the children continued their program. "Mrs. Brown's Christmas '"'Present" was presented by Chris Jones and Andy Robinson and everyone certainly had a good laugh. Michelle Jones, Bar- bara Middleton and Karen Graham, and a recorder solo by Chris Jones. The Nightingale sisters, Lisa, Kim and Sherry sang a selection and Michelle Patterson and Lisa Nightingale sang with Michelle accompanying on the harpsichord. "Robbie Waples and Brother Billy told the story of "The night before Christmas on Sesame street". It was a truly delightful time and Santa payed a visit to the children to con- clude the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Walker, Mr. Ross Faint and Mrs. Frank Rumney travelled to Gravenhurst on Thursday to visit with their brother, Mr. Winston Faint. Several from our community attended the surprise birthday party for Mrs. Marjorie Gervais at St. John's United on Saturday afternoon. Last Tuesday visitors with Mrs. Gladys McLay were Mr. and Mrs. Everett Evans of Thornton. Mr. and\Mrs. Roy Edwards visited on - Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Edwards and family of Barrie. _ Season's greetings everybody. Mr. and Mrs. Graydon Giffen, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Ball, and Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Giffen and Russell Maw attended a dinner and dance in Stroud put on by South Simcoe Plowman's Assoc. It was to honour Miss Marie Thomas of Cookstown, who is the Ontario Queen of the Furrow, Miss Connie Giffen of Edenvale, who is Miss Congeniality, and also runner-up to the queen, and Mr. Keith Robinson of Cookstown, who is the Ontario. Champion Plowman. Each were presented with gifts. Dalston Cub group carried off the ist prize trophy. The Lions came second and won the plaque. Santa Claus met the children again at the school and gave out treats. It was a cold clear day and everybody enjoyed themselves. Thanks to all the people who worked hard to make this day a success. Mr. and Mrs. P. J. O'Halleran are visiting with their daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Frost. and granddaughters at Sault Ste. Marie. Sorry to report of Mr. Cletus Connor's death. Formerly of RR 1 Hillsdale, Mr. O'Connor passed away on Nov. 27, 1980 at Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston after a_ brief illness. He was in his 95th vear. Cletus was the last surviving member of his family. He was well- known in the Mount St. Louis area.
