Obituary William (Bill) Oakley Sallows was well known William (Bill) Oakley Sallows, an _ active baseball and hockey player. and coach, of many years standing in Waubaushene and Sturgeon Bay, died in Huronia District Hospital on January 16, 1981. He was 69. He was born in Sturgeon Bay, Ontario (Tannerville), the son of the' late Benjamin Sallows and the late Eva Connor. His last residence was on R..R. 1, Waubaushene. His last month was spent in hospital. Surviving him are his Wild eye Olive (Cascagnette) Sallows, of R.R. 1, Waubaushene, and three daughters: Marlene (Mrs. Bob Murray), of Victoria Harbour, Sheila (Mrs. Ken Hunt), of Ottawa, and Noreen (Mrs. Scott). of Los Angeles, California. Mr. Sallows married Olive Cascagnette on May 17, 1931 in Victoria Harbour and _ lived outside Waubaushene for 49 years. He retired from his job with the Department of High- ways on Nov. 30, 1976 after 37 years, 31 years full-time and six years part-time. He was a grader and snowplow operator. He also worked for Tay Township for 10 years. He completed Grade 8 in a S.S. No. 15 Tay Township school. He was a member of the United Church. Also surviving are his sister Arbella (Mrs. Orv) Parnham) of Orillia, and Katie (Mrs. Howard Albin) of Toronto. There were eight grandchildren and four great grand- children. Rev. Terry Dunlop, of Coldwater, lead the funeral service' in Nicholls Funeral Home, Midland, on January 19, 1981. Interment to be in Victoria Harbour's Union Cemetery.
