MSS skiers going to GBSSA Skiers of both varieties at Midland Secondary School will be active in the next week at Georgian Bay Secondary School Association competi- tions. MSS alpine skiers will be competing at Blue Mountain in Collingwood Friday, the first run being at around 9:30 a.m. The boys' team from MSS will be represented by Matthew Leitch, Tim Leitch. Mina Tesseris and Cam Wraith. Girls competing for MSS will be Stacey Leitch, Stephanie Johnson, Cheryl Myers and Katherine Nicolls. Cross-country skiers at MSS will also be taking part in GBSSA finals, their competition taking place at Medonte Mountain Monday. There will be no girls' cross-country team competing for MSS but the boys team will be there strong as ever. Competing for MSS will be Kent Goldsmith, Ian Porter, Mark Losch and Rob Murday. It was Robillard's night It was quite the night for Paul Robillard of Penetanguishene Jr. C Kings hockey club as he scored a hat trick in the game in which his team defeated Parry Sound Shamrocks 7-6 in Penetanguishene Arena Friday night. Not only did he score a hat trick though, he was also the guest of honour. Rob Grenier and Mark York with six points, Jerome Ladouceur with five points. Steve Poole and Gilbert Quesnelle' with four points and Ed Longlad and Tom Rankin with two points. The senior boys' team narrowly downed Barrie Central 48-43, Paul Parent scoring 14 points in that game. Times team outplayed The Midland Times Peewee hockey club travelled to Penetanguishene Saturday for a game against the Penetanguishene 'A'"' team. After a hard fought game. Penetanguishene came out on top with an 8-4 win At the same time that game was going on, Midland Police Association Peewees were playing Century 21 (Ports of Huron) in Midland Centennial Arena Midland Police won that game by an iden- tical score, 8-4. Dan McCallum scored three times for Midland Police with Isaac Hauston getting two goals and two assists. Single markers for Midland Police were scored by Shawn Wheeler, John York and Craig Leadbetter. Scoring for Century 21 were David Moreau, Michael Billiard, Ben Spring and Jerry McMann. A&W was another house league team to play a rep team from Penetanguishene, this time the opposing team being Penetanguishene "B" Peewees. Penetanguishene won that game 10-1 in Midland Centennial Arena. Midland Minor Hockev's Tyke House teams were plaving in Midland Centennial Arena Friday night, Ron's Gas Bar taking their game with Bertram's Fuels 2- 1 in a closely played match. The two teams will face off again Friday in Midland' -Centennial Arena at 4:30 p.m. League Brad Turner, Blaise Robitaille and Morris Robitaille each scored eight points for ESPSS. Board crest. MSS seniors take sole victory Midland Secondary School's three boys' basketball teams travelled to Orillia District Collegiate and Vocational Institute Friday for a set of matches, the seniors being the only team to come away with a win. MSS seniors won their game 72-43, Al Delange being the top scorer for Midland with 18 points. Scott Shaw and John Faragher were the next two scorers with 16 points and 12 points. MSS juniors fell short of a win as ODCVI downed them 62-38, John Johnson scoring 20 points for Midland in that game. Wilson Cowan and Rob Leduc were the Goldsmith 11th Members of Midland Secondary School's cross-country ski team performed well at a meet at Rousseau Lake School recently. Kent Goldsmith finished in 11th with a time of 29 minutes for the eight kilometer course.
