Terry Archer and Earl Scott each scored a hat trick for Olympia Sports while Karl Todd came up with a pair. Single goals were scored by Bob Bray, George Weatherall, Cowan places second Carl Cowan of Penetanguishene Jr. C Kings was only nine points out of first place in league scoring for the regular season. Cowan had 51 goals and 67 assists for 118 points while Steve Bice of Gravenhurst Indians had 54 goals and 73 assists for 127 points. Bice won the league scoring race last year as well with 47 goals and 77 assists for 124 points. Cowan improved a great deal jumping from 11th spot with 30 goals and 39 assists for 69 points all the way up to second. Doug Gillespie of the Kings also made a jump up the scoring ladder from 10th last year with 74 points up to a two- way tie for fifth place with 86 points. He shares that spot with Wayne Dixon, also of Penetanguishene. Paul Robillard of the Kings will be leaving the team this year because of age restrictions but Toros gore Century 27 8-4 in Pen-Mid hockey Penetanguishene A. E. LePae Toros defeated Midland's Century 21 Peewee House League team 8-4 in Penetanguishene- Midland Peewee House League _Inter-locking League play Saturday. Scoring for A.E. LePage were Peter Dion with three goals and two assists, Steve Marion with two goals and one assist, Richard Leterineau with two goals and one assist and Charlie Bottineau with one goal and one assist. Jeffery Mason and Jamie Butler each got two assists for A.E. LePage and they were joined by Stephan Quinn with one assist. Scoring for Century 21 were Den Spring with one goal, Devon Hanes with one goal, Jerry McMann with one goal and David Moreau with one goal and one assist. Jeff Dorion received two assists while Bill ESPSS midgets come closein 28-26 win Ecole Secondaire Penetanguishene Secondary School's midget boys' basketball team lost a close game to Park St. of Orillia 28- 26 Wednesday. Dave Bayfield scored 14 points for ESPSS while Scott Hook and Kevin Wagg_ each dunked four points. ESPSS Juniors had better luck as_ they defeated Park St. 36-33, Paul Balaback getting 22 points for ESPSS. Gilbert Quesnelle scored six points while Rob Genier had four points. ESPSS seniors were soundly defeated by Park St. 87-26, John Roi scoring the most points for ESPSS with eight » while Morris Robitaille chalked up five points and Brad Turner scored four points. Attridge was given one assist. A. E. LePage Toros will play Saturday Penetanguishene KIL in Penetanguishene Arena at 7:45 a.m. he also made a good placing in the race, taking eighth spot with 66 points. He was 19th last season. Three Midland Centennials also made the scoring race, Ken Mugford claiming 10th spot with 64 points while his teammate Andy Zurawski took 11th place with 59 points. Paul Hahn of Midland Centennials finished in a two-way tie for 13th place with 53 points. None of- those three were even in the race last season, the only two Centennials having made it last year being Dale Denis who came in 20th with 47 points and John Swales in 21st with 46 points. Denis finished out of the top 15 this season and Swales left the club last vear. Earl Cousineau and Rick Lefaive. Scoring fO77; Roadrunners were Rick Graham and Gord Paul. Surprisingly, there was only one minor penalty in the entire game despite the high score. Roadrunners are known for their non- violent play though and this year, they won the Doug Hebner Trophy for the most sportsmanlike conduct. They had the least amount of penalties in regular season play. ~ Athenian Flyers also had a big win as they downed Performance Sports 12-4, Garry Buttineau scoring three goals for Athenian Flyers. Ken Edgar, Dan Cousineau, Don Lefaive and Paul Adams all scored two goals for Athenian Flyers while Brian Phillips scored a single marker. Brian Revers scored a pair of goals for Per- formance Sports with Mike McCormick and Ted Weatherall helping out with a goal each. A closer game was played between Duggan's Polar Kings and Hebner's Taxi as Duggan's took that game 5-2. Mike Laurin scored a pair of goals for Duggan's with Gary Preston, Tom Borsa and Gary St. Amand getting singles. Rick Griffis and ~ Briggs Harvey scored for Hebner's Taxi. In that game, there were a total of 18 minor penalties. The win by Olympia Sports gives them a two- point increase in their lead over Hebner's Taxi who failed to get any points, putting Olympia Sports in a strong hold on first with 32 points. Hebner's Taxi drops to third after Duggan's Polar Kings moves into second with 26 points.
