Penetanguishene Oldtimers have varied success in Collingwood Penetanguishene Hotel Brule Oldtimers hockey club had varied success at a hockey tournament played this past weekend in Collingwood. In their first game, they lost to Collingwood by a score of 8-5 but came back to claim a 6-6 tie with Owen Sound. Parlour Games take two of six Sunday Parlour Games, Senior A Men's Volleyball team hosted a league tournament Sunday in Midland YMCA, winning two games of the six they played. They played against the University of Toronto in their first match, dropping the first game 15-11 but coming back to take the MSS seniors take Winterama title Midland Secondary School senior boys' were the grand winners in the ninth annual Penetanguishene Winterama Senior Boys' Basketball Tournament held Saturday at Ecole Secondaire Penetan- guishene Secondary School. They earned that title by defeating Barrie Eastview 61-40 in the championship game. ESPSS almost made it to the consolation round but were ousted, by Midland and Parry Sound. Parry Sound went on to win the consolation round by taking the game 52-28 over Georgian Bay Secon- dary School. The tournament could not have been such a huge success without the help of Carmen and Don McNamara who are the leaders of all the people who assured the smooth progress of the proceedings. Dusome, Maracle winners in badminton Ritchie Dusome and Keith Maracle of Ecole Secondaire Penetan- guishene Secondary School won the silver medals for the under 16 Georgian Bay Bad- minton Tournament held Saturday at Secondary Midland School. They won those medals by placing second in the doubles competition in a very tough field of players. secona game 15-13. University of Toronto came back to take the rubber match 15-12 for the three-game series. Parlour Games then played Kalev but the "locals" started out on the wrong foot again with another 15-11 loss. They lost the second game as well 15-10 but by the third game, they seemed to find some of that much needed unity in play and they rallied for a 16-14 win in the third and final game. The wins give them a four-win and eight game loss record for - their senior A play and their main problem lies in their serve reception. Their play there is spotty and their attack is easily detected before they can form a plan because of this spot- tiness. Otherwise, all their positions are strong, especially in the person of John Quilty who is the team's best setter. Coach Rick Presse will be working on the team's serve reception in their next few practice sessions as well as aggressive float serve techniques. Gone Forever! Goodman Therapist Bo.
