Wyebridge news Dance well attended by Liz and John Dennis A large turnout watched last Saturday evening at the Wyebridge Community Centre as the Northern Edition plucked and strummed the evening away to the delight of all present. Attendance at the Wyebridge dances has been quite good over the past several months and Saturday's turnout was certainly no exception. Door prizes were presented during in- termission and at the evening's end a light lunch was served. If you haven't heard a good fish story for awhile then you have , not been talking to Jim Scott. Jim recently entered the Victoria Harbour, Mini Bonhomme fishing contest. The rules simply stated contestants were to try and catch the largest fish, (of any species) then enter the fish in the contest. Well, last Saturday Jim received a call from one of the organizers informing him that his catch of a 12 pound, nine ounce pike had won him first prize. For his efforts, Jim netted himself a new fishing reel. Warmest congratulations, Jim! In a few weeks, you will be seeing a great deal in the papers, magazines, radio and on television, about another. "Nutrition Week" is about to be born-nationally. For a few years a small band of dietitians, members of the Ontario Dietetic Association have manfully (or "ersonfully?") tried in © a variety of ways to bring the _ nutrition message to Ontario. It wasn't a very strong voice but maybe last year's theme of "Snack Right-Pure Delight" just might have planted a small seed of awareness that it is possible to snack without guilt. Certainly the "snack" theme emblazoned on the bosom of promotional T shirts worn by a few well- endowed __ dietitians, drew more than a second look! This year Nutrition Week is the week of March 2 to the 7. The theme ties in with the upsurge of interest in physical fitness and proclaims the philosophy of 'Energy In-Energy Out". In other words simply eating, whether eating properly or not, is not enough. Our bodies need activity also, to be Markets Own Books The' Publishing Division of the National Museums of Canada is responsible for the editing, production, marketing and distribution of a wide range of books. In the next month, watch for many articles and programs on the theme of "Energy In- Energy Out". It is a cross-Canada --project and it is hoped that the reliable in- formation will help to better inform Canadians and refute some of the quackery and unreliable in- formation that is so wide spread and so eagerly believed by many people. spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd McDonald.
