The pancakes are served in the Community Hall and are made while you watch. _ Don't miss a visit to the sugar bush! Take a bus to three of our local bushes where you will see all the preparations involved in making delicious syrup. You travel on horse or tractor drawn wagons between the three bushes. The main street of Elmvale (Highway 92) is Elmvale player assaulted before game Dear Editor: Immediately prior to the Friday night Elmvale Midget hockey game in Stayner, an Elmvale player was assaulted in the parking lot of the Stayner Arena by a group of local teenagers. The Elmvale player happened to be one of the strongest scorers on the team, a fact known to his attackers. I fee] someone, perhaps the parents, should take some of the responsibility for the actions of these Reader sets the record straight Dear Sir: I wish to express my disappointment in your newspaper's continued use of the expression "unilingual"' French high school when referring to Ecole Secondaire LeCaron, Citizen, Feb. 13, 1981, page 1. The same applies to mayor Bellisle for using the same term, as quoted on the same page. After a couple of years of almost weekly reporting the ongoing school development, any newspaper worth its salt, or shall we say its ink, should be capable of reporting facts accurately, or at least use the proper terms to identify a said item. A French Language Secondary School is a truly bilingual high school whereas ESPSS is not a bilingual school, but in fact, is elassified as a mixed school. As for M. Bellisle, his tunnel-vision opposition to Seniors card tournament by Eileen F. Dyett Champlain Senior Citizens had a delightful Valentine's party Tuesday evening, even though the miserable weather prevented many from attending. The high scores for euchre were won by Albertine Gauthier and Bea Gordoniere. The table of refreshments looked so inviting with the beautiful red and white setting and delicious food prepared by Della DesRochers, Ethel Gianetto, Rita Chevrette, Bea Gor- doniere, Grace Bowen and Iona _ Zab. Decorations were made by Bileen Dyett. Our second euchre tournament is in full swing, and we hope i have as many members| as possible attending next Tuesday evening. Pleased to see Lois Chmielak in our midst following her recent operation. We sincerely hope she will feel well and strong again soon. Our Friday Seniors' bowling league is going strong. To date, Harold Matthews has the high average of 202 for men and Thelma Cooper 186 for ladies. They also have the top flat scores. Cindy Prentice has the high double with handicap (512) and Bill Thompson (521) with attackers. Police were called and charges are pending, but it is my opinion that a sports facility such as the Stayner Arena is not the place for violence of this type. Perhaps the parents of the young people in question should be teaching them the true meaning of sportsmanship. Kirk Hargrave Coach of Elmvale Midgets a French language secondary school seems to render him incapable of seeing the positive side of true bilingualism, and it also seems to take away his ability to use the proper vocabulary when it applies to our school. It is my hope that this crippled and crippling attitude does not spread to municipal matters. Yours truly, A Penetanguishene taxpayer, Gilles Maurice closed to vehicular traffic and becomes a huge pedestrian mall, a people place for arts and crafts, home baking, Molson's Caravan, educational displays, the OPP van and pure maple syrup sold by local producers. Syrup is government inspected for your protection. The Elmvale Jungle Zoo would like you to meet their animals and weather permitting will have a petting zoo for the youngsters. There will be a farm animal and Bud Zoo for the children. There will be entertainment on the main street mall all day Saturday, a log sawing contest, HCES Band, the School of Dance and we will have one or two of the Hanna Barbara cartoon characters from Canada's Wonderland. Then the Grand Finale Maple Syrup Ball will be held Saturday, April 11 in the Community Hall with Northern Edition supplying the music. There will be a lunch and refreshments, spot dances and door prizes. Tickets will be $10 per couple and admission will be limited to 100 couples. Thank you very much for allowing me to keep your readers informed about the 15th annual Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival. Remember April 11, 1981. Yours sincerely, Don Thompson, Chairman, Elmvale and District Maple Syrup Festival Association.
