Bruce Guthrie has returned to Wyebridge for the summer months after completing another hockey season south of the border. During the later part of the 80/81 season, Bruce was traded from the Saginaw Gears to the Muskegon Mohawks in northern Michigan. Bruce plans to play baseball this summer and get re-acquainted with his many friends. Mike and Trish Hines spent an enjoyable Easter weekend with Trish's mother and father, Betty and Bob Forsthoff. Betty and Bob drove up from Kettering (near Dayton), Ohio and stayed with Mike and Trish from Friday to Monday. Betty and Bob are by no means newcomers to the area as they had made the trip a few times prior to last weekend. According to Trish, if the weather had been more favourable they would have flown into Huronia Airport, as Bob is a qualified pilot and they have done this in the past. Last Wednesday, the Wyebridge Fire Department was called out to extinquish another grass fire, this time on Highway 27, beside Johnson's Fruit Market. Stu. and Peggy Withers were host and hostess Easter Sunday to Kim and Lo-Ann Ly and family of Elmvale. Kim and Lo-Ann along with daughters Koi, Doan, and Koa were treated to a delicious dinner and an enjoyable evening. Easter weekend was a busy time for Gary and Darlene Preston, as they entertained weekend guests, Jacqueline and Ralph Jennet and children, Tracie and Ashley. Jacqueline is Darlene's sister and she travelled from Durham last Thursday evening and according to Akela Doug Reynolds all the boys did a fine job. What ever you do, don't make any plans for Saturday, May 9. WE NEED YOU! For what? To clean up the Wyebridge Park and do a little painting. Remember last year how only a few people showed up for this event? Well this year let's have as many out as possible. Many hands make little work and all contributions to the clean-up cause will be greatly. appreciated. See you there.
