There will also be flights on Saturday and Sunday to Fort Lauderdale. All flights will be operated on an advance booking charter basis utilizing Nordair 737 aircraft. Penguins start season off with big win Dock Lunch Penguins of Penetanguishene- Midland Ball Hockey, Senior Division started off their season right Tuesday night in Penetanguishene Arena by defeating the Decor Hustlers 5-1 George Monaham was the big man for the Penguins as he stopped 32 shots for the victory. According to George Woods, the race is scheduled for Monday, May 18 at Delaware Speedway and up for grabs will be a purse of $10,000. Time trials are ex- pected to get underway at 2 p.m. and the top 20 cars logging the fastest time during the two laps of qualifying, will compete for the big money. . Woods noted that times for these races are likely to average in the low twenties, seconds that it, but he was unable to give average times for Midland driver Joey Woods, who will com- Bike-a-thon registration The Contact Telephone Information and Referral Centre in Midland is a worthwhile and helpful organization but in order to help Midland-Penetanguishene, they must rely on the people of those communities to help them with the needed funds. To do this, the Contact Centre will be holding their "Big Wheelie" bike-a-thon May 24. Riders will ride the 20 mile distance for pledges collected from residents of Midland- Penetanguishene, all proceeds going to the Contact Centre's operating funds. The person collecting the most pledges will receive a $50 dinner for two at Andrea's Restaurant in Midland. Even if you're not riding, you can still help out by sponsoring one of those people riding in the fund-raising event. Riders in the bike-a-thon will ride from Midland Secondary School through Tiny Township to the first checkpoint at County Road Six and Concession 11 on to the second checkpoint at Robert Street and Fuller Avenue in Tay Township, finishing up at Little Lake Park. The bike-a-thon will start at 9 a.m. with a rain date for the event set for May 31.
