Ball hockey scoreboard Oilers outslick Stompers 5- by Don Lawrence There were two games Thursday night in Penetang-Midland Ball Hockey League play in Penetanguishene Arena, the first game being a 5-1 win for Stewart's Gulf Oilers over Cumming-Nicholson Stompers. Scoring for Stewart's were Denis Pelletier with two goals, Joe Beausoleil, Paul Hayes and Tim Hook all with singles. Paul Sauve scored the'only goal for Cum- ming-Nicholson. Stewart's outshot Cumming-Nicholson 25 shots to 18, Ed Diver minding the net for Cumming-Nicholson and Craig Watson sitting between the posts for Stewart's. In the other game Thursday, S. Charlebois Haulage and Excavating Diggers outscored the Hustlers 8-3, Dan St. Amant and Mike Duval each tallying up two goals for S. Charlebois. Singles were added by Peter Robillard, Norman Zwicker, George Mundy and Marc Duquette. Scoring for the Hustlers were Brian Pilon, Keith St. Amant and Rod Stubel. Denis Ladouceur faced 40 shots on net for the Hustlers while Glenn Irvive had a less busy time at the other end with 23 shots on net. Action continued Sunday with five games on tap, E.G. Mink Insurance Premiums winning the first match 8-1 over Stewart's Gulf Oilers. Bob Bray was the top scorer for E.G. Mink with four goals while Peter Beeney added a pair. Rick LeClair and Frank Milligan both added single markers. Joe Beausoleil scored the only goal for Stewart's. Indusmin salvages last half tie. Charlebois Haulage and Excavating Diggers' players James Dupuis, George Mundy and Marc Duquette all tallied up two goals apiece as that team stomped the Pen- Mid Merchants 12-4. Also scoring for S. Charlebois were Dan St. Amant, Mike Duval, John Larmand, Paul Gravelle, Rick Duval and Jamie Robillard all with single markers. Putting the ball in the net for Pen-Mid Merchants were Brian Slammers, Frank Hall, Dave Desroches and Dave Forget. Winning goaltender was Bill Puddicombe who stopped 15 shots while losing goaltender was Brad Bumstead who faced a barrage of 37 shots on net by the Diggers. Dock Lunch Penguins feasted in their game as they gobbled up eight goals, downing M. Forget Construction 8-2. Chalking up markers for the Penguins were Greg St. Amant and Dave Miller both with two goals, Keith Press, Steve Brodeur, Ed Buttineau and Rob Cascagnette all with single goals. Mark Decourcey and Larry Lalonde both scored for M. Forget Construction. In net for M. Forget was Tom Duval who stopped 25 shots with Jean-Louis Brunelle stopping 15 shots for the Penguins. Deflection goal Todd Lalonde won the game for Cumming- Nicholson Stompers in the final match Sun- day when he deflected a shot by Chris sWright with seven seconds remaining to play, giving them the game 4-3. Dupuis Groceteria were shorthanded at the time of the winning goal. Other goals for Cumming-Nicholson were scored by Kirk Swales, Chris Wright and Tom Graham. Goals for Dupuis Groceteria were tallied up by Gary Bellisle with two and Bill Ladouceur with one. Mike Duquette played in net for Dupuis Groceteria, stopping 29 shots with Ed Diver blocking 27 shots for the Stompers. Three games will be going tomorrow night in Penetanguishene Arena, starting at 8:15 p.m. The first game will be between S. Charlebois Haulage and Excavating Diggers and Cumming-Nicholson Stompers with the second game at 9:30 p.m. between Dupuis Groceteria and Stewart's Gulf.
