Summertime Getting to be habit for ToniLembo For the sixth time this year, Toni Lembo of Midland and coach Don Betts of Crestwood Farms in Perkinsfield found themselves accepting champion or reserve championship awards. Saturday, saw Toni Lembo aboard "Something: Ventured"' win the Equitation Under Saddle Class. This win placed Toni ina tie for first place in the Junior "'B"' Equitation Division. On Sunday, Toni's consistent performances aboard Something Ventured captured second and third place in Over Fence Class plus a second place in the Hunter Over Fences Stake Class. These wins provided enough points to capture title and awards as Champion of the Aurora Horse in her Division. Sunday's win was a significant one for Toni, since The Aurora Show is a class one show and the division had 49 entrants.\ In calculating Ontario standings the riders placing The Show Class and number of en- trants determine the points wards. Another Midland resident Michael Stone, saw paydirt when his horse Eldorado placed second in the prestigious Modified Grand Prix. Eldorado was ridden by Jim Elder of Aurora, who is a member of the Canadian Team, which won a gold medal at the Alternate Olympics in Rotterdam this past year. fun in Midland, Penetang With the coming of summer holidays, parents will be looking for something to keep their children busy with and the towns of Midland and Penetanguishene will be helping in that respect. Both towns will be offering day camps through their Parks and Recreation boards. Midland's day camps will be held in Little Lake Park in Midland with the Civic Centre as the location if rain comes. The camps will commence July 6 and are open to children 11 to 14 years old. There will be four sessions, two weeks in length with a fee of $10 being charged for each child. Children attending the camps will learn about and participate in canoeing, tennis, volleyball, soccer, softball and hiking. Registration for the camps will be held at Midland Civic Centre Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday. In Penetanguishene, the day camps will start July 13 and run until July 24 with the second camp going from Aug. 10 until Aug. 21. There will also be an optional sleepout for those who wish to attend.
