ee ee De er hi AW Pek agen Da ee nan Oilers' Goodine records shutout In senior division action of Penetang- Midland Ball Hockey in Penetanguishene Arena Thursday night, Stewart's Gulf Oilers shut out M.Forget Construction by a 4-0 score, Paul Goodine getting the shut out for the Oilers. > Goodine stopped 15 shots in that game. Scoring for the Oilers were Joe Beausoleil who netted a pair of markers with Peter Cote and Paul Hayes both adding singles. In the other game played Thursday, S. Charlebois Haulage Diggers came up with a close 3-2 win over Dock Lunch Penguins, Dave Miller scoring both goals for the Penguins. For the Diggers, Peter Dupuis, Dan Cote and Mike Duval all got single markers. Sunday, Ken Akerman led Dupuis Groceteria Leafs to a 6-2 victory over E.G. Mink Insurance Premiums, Akerman getting one goal and three assists. Gary Bellisle scored three goals for the Leafs as their main scorer while Dan LeClair and Bil] Ladouceur both tallied up singles. Scoring for the Premiums were Pat Brodeur and Rick Leclair. Cumming-Nicholson Stompers out- scored Stewart's Gulf Oilers 6-4 Sunday, Paul Loughran, Paul Sauve and Kirk Swales all getting two goals apiece. Scoring for the Oilers in that game were Joe Beausoleil with a pair, Wayne Dixon and Larry Butson with singles. Pen-Mid Merchants came up with a total of 38 shots on net in their game Sunday but George Monahan kept the ball out of the net as his team, Dock Lunch Penguins beat out the Merchants 5-3. Richard Genier led the scoring for the Penguins with a hat trick with Mike Moreau adding the other two goals. Dave Desroches, Roland Beausoleil and Robert Quesnelle tallied up the goals for the Merchants. S. Charlebois Haulage Diggers outhustled the Hustlers 6-2 Sunday, John Larmand leading the Diggers with a pair of goals. Mike Duval, Norman Zwicker, George Mundy and James Dupuis all got single goals for the Diggers. Ron Lalonde and Chris McConnell both scored for the Hustlers. V. Robitaille Construction ended off Sunday's action be defeating M.Forget Construction 8-1. Jamie Neil being the only player to score for M. Forget. Ken Forget and Mike McCormack both scored two goals for V. Robitaille while Vince Robitaille, Terry Kennedy, Steve Craig and Ed Crann all got singles. Ladies Intermediate Penetanguishene's Softball, Midland runs were scored in the Therriens Furniture first inning with one, split the two games they twointhe second inning, played this past week. Midland won their game Thursday in Port MeNicoll against the Merchants 19-5, Gayle Hamelin the winning pitcher in that game. Hamelin was making her season debut on the mound in that game. Pitching for Port McNicoll were Georgina Gage, Dale King and Diane Langley. Midland started the game off with two runs and then followed up with three more runs in the second inning. Port McNicoll mat- ched Midland's three runs in the bottom of the second. Therriens then took total control as they hammered in eight more runs in the third inning and six in the fourth inning. Although they didn't score any runs in the fifth inning, Midland held Port McNicoll off the scoreboard in the final inning to invoke the mercy rule. Top batters for Port MeNicoll were Georgina Gage with three hits for three times at bat, Lill King and Mary Crosato both hitting two for three. Midland Therriens' top hitters were Marg Palmer who hit four for four, Sue _ Nielson, Angela Schmidt and Linda Vessair who hit four for five, Trudy Fontaine and Andrea Desmasdon who both hit three for four. Midland played well defensively Sunday night but had to bow 8-3 to Penetanguishene G & C in Little Lake Park in Midland. Midland's runs came in the third inning with one run and in the sixth fourth in the fifth inning and one in the sixth inning. : Midland's_ pitcher Sharon Borrow struck out one batter and walked 10 with six players left on base. Winning pitcher for the game was Dale Butt hits and left five players on base. Midland had two double plays while Penetanguishene G & C had one.
