Approximately 200 friends and relatives visited with them during the open house held at the Vasey United Church during the af- ternoon and evening. Many cards of congratulations were received also a phone call from the office of the Governor General, Mr. Ed Schryer. MPP Allan McLean of Simcoe East presented the couple with a plaque on behalf of Premier William Davis and also a letter of congratulations from Mr. and Mrs. McLean. Mr. Charles Rawson, reeve of Tay Township was present to bring greetings and cer- tificates from the Corporation of the County of Simcoe and also the Corporation of the Township of Tay. A telegram was received from Rey. Art and Mrs. Violet Lawton of B.C. and a phone call from Mr. and Mrs, Art Renney of Gabriola Island, B.C. The couple received a lovely plaque and a monetary gift from the community as well as other memorable gifts. The Ebenezer U.C.W. served a_ delicious supper to the families and their guests. Rev. Kim Warne gave the blessing and after the meal, the Faint's son, Robert acted as master of ceremonies. He recounted some memorable events during the past fifty years, and each member of the family, Carol, Bob and Gwen also reminisced with memories over the years. Mr. and Mrs. Faint expressed their ap- preciation and thanks to all and also were very happy to have the bride's sister, Ruth Russell of Calgary who was Mrs. Faints at- tendant and Clifford Faint, the groom's brother, who was best man, with them on this memorable occasion. Other guests who were introduced were Mrs. Luella Pretty of Regina, Mr. and Mrs. Graham Taylor, of Beaverton, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Russell of Weston and Dr. and Mrs. Roy Spracklin of Paisley. The Faints have three of a family, Carol (Mrs. Harold Graham) RR No. 1, Midland, Robert School resumes Sept. 8 Parents who have been bombarded with "we have nothing to do this summer" from their children can be of good cheer in just over a month classes resume again following the summer holidays. To be exact Sept. 8 is when schools re-open for the fall. of Port Dover, and Saskatoon, and Six Gwen (Mrs. Robert grandchildren, Laurie, Spracklin) of Robert, Karen and Church in for key ceremony The United Church congregation of Waubaushene Memorial Church is celebrating the 100th anniversary Aug. 9, 9 a.m. Rev. Ross Cummings of Stratford United -- Church will be the guest minister at this service. Rev. Cummings was minister for the Coldwater Pastoral Charge during the 1950's for ap- proximately nine years. There will be special music and memorial dedications at this service. Regular services at Coldwater and Eady will be cancelled for this Sunday. Everyone is welcome to the lunch at the I.0.0.F. Hall following the service.
