Flos council okays firefight pact Flos Council held its regular meeting for the month of August Aug. 4 and among the items discussed and approved was the pur- chase of pipe for instalation on the Flos / Tiny Townline from Koppers International. The purchase was approved by Flos Council in the amount of $4,648.20 subject to approval by both Tiny Council and the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. At the meeting, township fathers also decided to enter into an agreement with the township of Medonte for firefighting services for the east half of lots 41-58 inclusive, Con- cession 1 of Flos. The agreement would be at the rate of $125 per truck for each call plus the current firefighters rate of $4.50 per hour. Severances Two severances were discussed and ap- proved at the meeting, both of which were the result of recommendations by the planning committee. The first involved severance of 100 acres by Mr. and Mrs. Rupert McGrath, being the south and north half lot two, Concession six from lot one, Concession six: The second dealt with the appeal by Mr. F. Salamon, who requested severance of the west north-half of lot four and part of half of north lot five, Concession two (130 acres total) from the remaining holdings (150 acres) subject to sale of the land. Rezoning A rezoning application was also approved during the gathering, originating with Cliff Walker's request to rezone five acres of leased land owned by R. Cappuccitti. Council agreed with the move and rezoned part of lot 52, Concession one from agriculture to M-2, subject to a reserve allowance bor- dering Highway 93. Accounts Flos Council approved for payment a total of $61,507.75 worth of general accounts in- cluding a bank loan repayment in the amount of $59,000. Reports Flos Building inspector submitted his report at the meeting and it was approved in the amount of $98,925 while the road report was okayed in the amount of $93,884.10.
