Angels won that series two games to none and both matches were won by just a single run. Tuesday match The-first game of the series was played in Elmvale last Tuesday evening and the op- posing team, ANAF Getting ready A very successful golf tournament was held at Brooklea Golf and Country Club, Saturday, as that club's fifth annual invitational tournament got underway. A total of 127 golfers took part in this year's tournament, as compared to an average of 55 from past years. Elmvale fought back to even the score at 2-2 and the winning run for the local squad came in the seventh inning of play. Shirley Howie led off the rally with a single and Angie Kirton went in to run for her, was advanced to second by JoAnne McGinnis and on to third on a sacrifice bunt by Barb Schlorff. Deb Charman managed the RBI, her single scoring Kirton from third and giving the Angels the 3-2 vic- tory. Deb Charman was the starting pitcher in the match and JoAnne McGinnis came in to relieve in the sixth and earn the win. Fans were glued to their seats by the ex- citing last inning of play and subsequent win by the Angles. ANAF played a strong game and the Elmvale girls were lucky to come away with a win as the team was not very sharp throughout. Series winner Angels wound up that 'best of three series Thursday night in Barrie when once again they managed to hold on to their one point lead and take the match by a 3-2 score. This time around however, it was Elm- vale who jumped into an early 1-0 lead. Brenda Columbus crossed the plate for the Angels to score that run. Angels' increased their lead to 3-0 by the fourth inning but the hard-fighting ANAF squad brought their score to within one point of the leaders. JoAnne McGinnis was the winning pitcher for the Elmvale girls.
