Not even a team of wild horses is going to get either Tiny or Tay back into the Tiny-Tay Peninsula Planning Board. Both townships say they want out. Both have good reasons for wanting to opt out and that's the way it should be. Housing Minister Claude Bennett can send 'the townships a hundred letters but it won't do any good...nor will putting a gun to Tiny's and Tay's head(s). To be honest TTPPB has seen better days. It has served its real purpose and it should be allowed to die a quiet death. Don't tell us that by burying TTPPB, regional. government will be forced on this area...it just won't happen. All six municipalities - -_----_-. bail ELMVALE'S FALL FAIR is { set for this weekend. Midland q and Coldwater already have staged their annual fairs. : But how about This past summer the town hosted a number of super special : events and already plans are 4 in the works for' the community's annual Winterama but what about a : Penetanguishene? world's class guy Figure Skating Championships in England. And during the competition he landed the supreme jump - a triple axle - which is fast becoming his _ personal trademark. Congratulations are in order to Brian Orser who continues to dazzle judges and fans alike around the world. We are all very proud of Brian Orser...North Simcoe's and the world's own super star. Tiny and Tay have some rights too! Penetanguishene, Midland, Victoria Harbour, Port MeNicoll, Tiny Township and Tay Township - have their own official plans. A master plan might be nice for the whole area but only as a guideline and nothing more. The longer this saga continues, the longer it appears one municipality is trying to interfere with another...the longer it is going to take to heal the wounds that have been opened during this crisis. : Enough is enough. If the urban municipalities want to form some sort of planning club, so be it. But isn't it time Penetanguishene, Midland, Port MecNicoll and Victoria Harbour respected the wishes of Tiny and Tay? If not...why not? | Cornroast ? fall fair? If not a fall fair, may we suggest early next September some service club or other civic group host a giant corn roast held on a Saturday and there could be live music, games, etc. What better time to plan the event than now since next year Penetanguishene will be marking its 100th birthday.
