om NEA pennies itis Racine aed TET, a oe aaron ate | Mc-Santa Claus! we Guess who made a recent visit to McDonald's on Highway 27? You guessed it...Santa Claus. He and his helper stopped off to have breakfast with his many friends before heading back to the North Pole to prepare for tonight's global circumnavigation. -Sunday's the day McDonald's to celebrate its fifth mc-anniversary On Sunday, McDonald's in Midland will be celebrating its fifth an- niversary and their drive-thru grand opening. McDonald's has many events planned for that day, including price reductions (1976 prices) free an- niversary cake, helium balloons, special treats for kids and adults, and a gift for the first 100 drive-thru customers after 12 noon. The Midland McDonald's Restaurant opened on Dec. 27, 1976. Since that -opening day, the restaurant has seen many changes. Three of the original, opening-day employees, Becci Weissflog, Terri Brickles and Annette Dion are still employed with the restaurant. McDonald's of Midland helped to contribute to the company's '35 Billion Sold'? mark. in 'Hamburger History"'. Just to give you an idea of how many 35 billion hamburgers are...it would take one person 222,222 years to eat them all at the rate of one hamburger eaten every five minutes. As a matter-of-fact, it would take you 792 years just to count them, at the rate of one per second!!! There are over 300 McDonald's Restaurants in Canada, and the International number of stores totals over 5,500 restaurants. The most impressive McDonald's is in Holland. The restaurant is built inside a _ renovated historical monument that's over 246 years old. Ronald McDonald, the famous clown, (who's planning a visit to Midland soon!) is used in all the in- ternational markets and children of every country have accepted him as a fun, friendly friend.
