Wyevale by Jeanne Webb The Wyevale School gymnasium was packed on Dec. 15. The happy oceasion was. the school's' annual Christmas concert. Parents and friends were bursting with pride as each child took their part. The principal, Mr. Tom Mart and each teacher is to be com- mended for _ their leadership, also Mrs. Marion Locke, who is choir director. The school choir gave a super performance. The school choir also brought more sunshine to the Sunshine Club in Elmvale on Dec. 14. They put on a musical program for the senior citizens of Elmvale area. The United Chruch of Wyevale sponsored a night of caroling, Dec. 20. The beautiful evening drew ap- proximately 80 carolers out, even to the tiny tots, carried on parents' shoulders, Many homes were cheered by the beautiful Christmas message in song. After about two hours, the happy throng wended its way back to the church to enjoy a hot snack of chili and chocolate. On Sunday morning, Dec. 20, the United Church congregation thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas pageant, put on by their Sunday School children. The Wyevale Free Methodist Church held its Christmas concert Saturday night, Dec. 19. Everyone enjoyed the program directed by Zdenka Slama, por- traying What Christmas Means To Me. Special music was provided by a young brother and sister from Barrie, friends of the Slama's. Tracey Redforth and Claudia Slama sang several Christmas carols, fitting in with the Christmas message. A light lunch and bags of candy and chips for each ended an enjoyable evening. Sunday morning, Dec. 20, in the Free Methodist Church, the Christmas message was brought by Reverend Hubert Schwartz, who is back on one foot at least. Hubert suffered a broken ankle about a month ago. Following the worship service, a fellowship dinner was enjoyed. The turkey bingo, held in the Orange Centre, Dec. 11, was a success. Mr. and Mrs. Ike Brock are home from a tour of the Orient. They report a very beautiful and educational trip, Ike and Fle will have many interesting things to tell you, if you can corner them. Once again the spirit of Good Will and Cheer is rampant in the village. The beautiful Christmas lights are twinkling out their Christmas message to each of us and we say "Thank You"'! The McRaes, on the corner of the Drive-In Road and the Base Line, are Once again sending forth their Christmas greetings to one and all. The magnificent display of lights and _ the beautiful Christmas carols are gladdening the heart of many a passer-by. The Mothers were invited to attend the Fly-Up and a jolly time The following week was Halloween, as usual the costumes were outstanding. We had the girls bobbing for apples and the Mothers zenerously supplied the treats. The ist Midland Guides showed how tough they were, when they enjoyed a day of the Rally held in Penetanguishene Park on Nov. 28. I am happy to say they came through with flying colours, chattering teeth and knocking All these activities were in addition to the regular meetings. On Dec. 8 we enrolled our \ tenderfoot Guides and held our Christmas Girl Guides of Canada Today's column was submitted by Mrs. Rocky Shores Play. At this important event the newest girls (Tenderfoots) Guides; became fully fledged Girl there was great rejoicing. The parents and relatives were invited to attend and the girls got to show their prowess in acting as they took part in a play. The Girls also took part in the Carolling at the Senior Citizens Club on Friday, Dec. 11.
