ne Obituary The death occurred on Dec. 13, 1981, at Little Lake Park, Midland, of Kevin James Manuel, of 334 Cedar _ Street, Midland. Manuel and a companion drowned when their snowmobile broke through ice on the lake. He was 15 years of age. A memorial service was held in Calvary Baptist Church at 7 p.m. on Dec. 17. Officiating clergymen were Dr. Ivan C. Morgan of Burlington, Ont., and Rev. Rob Campbell of St. Thomas, Ont. Interment to be decided. The Calvary Baptist Church choir sang God gives His _ people strength. The church was full for the joint memorial service for Kevin Manuel and Louise Reed. An estimated 400 persons attended. Surviving him are his parents, James and Sandra Manuel of Midland, his brother Gordon, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Crerar, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Manuel, all of Stratford, Ont. Born in Collingwood, Kevin Manuel attended public school in Scar- borough until February of 1980, when his family Kevin Manuel moved to Midland. He attended Grade 8 at Huron Park School, and Grades 9 and 10 at Midland Secondary School. He was a member of the Midland Junior Civitan Club, and of a youth group at Calvary Baptist Church. On Saturdays he worked at Holders Bakery. He attended Calvary Baptist Church, where his father is the pastor. Last year he was a member of the Midland Keegoes swim team and was in the process of obtaining his bronze medallion from _ the YMCA. Obituary ------Alice Deschamps Long-time Peneta- nguishene resident Alice Deschamps died in Huronia District Hospital on Dec. 25, 1981, after a_ brief illness. Mrs. Deschamps, age 92, was a resident of -- 47 Chatham Street. St. Ann's Memorial Church was the scene of a funeral mass on Dec. 28, Father Louis Dignard officiating. Interment later in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Perkinsfield. Her pallbearers were Leo Doyle, Alcide Ladouceur, John Deschamps, Leo Desjardins, Vincent Desjardins, and Raymond Desjardins. The late Mrs. Alice Deschamps is survived by~ her son, Jack Deschamp of Cedar Point, Ont., and her daughters Mary Hilda Kortko and _ Stella Drohan, both of Toronto. She had six grand- children and five great grandchildren. Waubaushene was her birthplace, her parents, the late Frederick Tremblay and the late Clementine Sauve. She was the widow of the late Peter Deschamps. Penetanguishene was her home for most of her life. She was a former member of the Ladies of St. Anne.
