VON meeting deals with fullagenda -- The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors for the V.O.N. Simcoe County Branch, was held in the board room of Georgian College, Barrie, Jan. 21, at 8 p.m. The meeting was called to order by the President, Paul Mills. Eleven members of the Board were in at- tendance, including: Mrs. C. Cox and Mr. P. Mills representing the Midland / Penetang- uishene area office. Arnoldi, seconded by Mrs. C. Cox, that the recommendations of Miss. Bolohan, the District Director, regarding the ap- pointments of two full time nurses on the V.O.N. staff be ac- cepted, CARRIED. These appointments are Miss Cathy Condon, in Midland, and Miss Janet Carr-Harris, in Orillia. - Moved by Dr. R. Turnbull, seconded by Mr. B. Trotter, that the resignation of Mr. Herb Kirk be accepted with regret and a letter of appreciation be sent. CARRIED. Mr. Kirk was a member of the Board for over 10 years and Treasurer for most of that time. Report Of The District Director Miss Jackie Bolohan reported that the final count for visits for the year 1981 was 33,127 indicating a great in- crease of 8,225 more visits than 1980 (an increase of 33 per cent). All areas in the Branch reported an increase. As well as the two recommendations for new staff members, Miss Bolohan also reported that Maureen Bergroth would be working part time in the Alliston area and Mrs. Patricia Pridding has also joined our staff in the Orillia area. Miss Bolohan then reported on the progress being made in the area ANNOUNCEMENTS of Sandy Cove Acres. She had met in January with interested residents to discuss the formation of a group and to determine the V.O.N.'s role. This group is called Care Ring and is made up of volunteers to help individuals who are having some difficulty with activities of daily living. Further meetings will be held to discuss where V.O.N. could assist with Care Ring. Committee Reports Transportation Committee Chairman, Dr. N. Gripper, reported that they are in the process of buying a new car in Collingwood. The Car Committee recommended that two meetings be held every year, one Spring and one Fall with a member of the nursing staff sitting on that Com- mittee. New Business - Moved by Mr. D. Arnoldi, seconded by Mr. W. Trotter, that the date of the Annual Meeting and official opening of the new V.O.N. office be March 18, 1982. Jackie Bolohan reported that three proposals for cleaning services were received. Moved by Mr. D. Moon, seconded by Mrs. L. Culham that Simcoe Cleaning and Supply Services contract be accepted for weekly cleaning at $85.00 per month. CARRIED.
