Jeffery, a Georgian Manor, Penetanguis- hene, resident, on May 12, 1982 in the Nicholls Funeral Home. Rev. J. L. Self officiated. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Midland. The former Hazel Neelands, a native of Hubbard, Minnesota, died on May 9 in Penetanguishene General Hospital. She had been ill for four months. She was 89 years of age. Her sons William of Midland and Edward of Los Angeles, Calif., and her daughters Helen Hubbard of Leamington and Joan Boyd of Kingston survive her. She had 10 grand- children and 12 great grandchildren. Her parents were Abraham Neelands and Sarah Amelia Chantler. On Dec. 28, 1914, she married Edward Jef- fery. She taught school at Crown Hill, Ont., until her marriage, and lived in Midland. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Midland. An active member of the Midland Golf and Country Club, Hazel Jeffery was made an honourary member in March of this year. Her pallbearers were her grandsons Ronald Jeffery, Edward Boyd, James Boyd, Richard Doughty, Garland Howard, and an in-law, Bill Johnston. $78,500 already received Midland Salvation Army's Red Shield Campaign, which is being conducted throughout the month of May, has already raised $18,500, reports Lt. Ray Braddock. The campaign's target is $25,000. Last year almost $23,000 was raised. Still to come in are funds from the Waubaushene area as well as the balance from Penetanguishene.
