The competition is open to any duos pair, one of whom must be 18 or under, and a full slate of 70 golfers are ex- pected to post the $18 (each) entry fee by the end of the week. The fee includes a free practice round, a chipping contest for the Juniors and prizes and door prizes after the 18- hole main event. One other enticement is the offer of a set of TNT clubs for anyone acing the eighth hole. For more information call the Brooklea pro shop at 526-7532. The Simcoe Rural Fastball League Tour- nament will be given another chance this Sunday in Elmvale. The annual get-together, rained out July 11, will match all nine clubs beginning early Sunday morning . . . weather permitting. Leading the assault was Peter Jorgensen, who went seven for seven with a two-run homer and eight RBI. Other big hitters were Dave Durtnall, at six for Six, and Glenis Mullings, who was seven for eight. Chipping in with two- run homers were Ed Desjardine and John "Reggie'"' Jones. A crashing grand slam was recorded' by Michael Jones. Steady Eddie Hub- bard was on the hill for the win. Elsewhere, Techform crushed the IUE sluggers 25-7 behind Russ Cousineau. Four- baggers were collected by Larry Langley and Morris Anderson, with single shots,.and John Gadon and Paul Win- stanley-Hayes cracking a pair apiece. The Sluggers managed to pick up a single point ° after playing: a 10-10 draw with Wilkin's Auto. Wilkin's was led by Steve Lamont, who pounded out a pair of round-trippers and Jimmy Hansford, who drove home the tying run. Simcoematic split a pair of games, upset by the Steelbrite Steelers 14-11 before defeating the Warriors 9-5. Al Deschamps got the win in the latter game for Simcoematic while Fred Hutchison picked up the. win . for Steelbrite. Fred helped himself with three RBI in that one. Fred's luck didn't hold, though, as he and his Steelers lost their next outing to Tom Blair and the Goman Boats squad 12-4. The Dollartown Saints shook off a pair of losses last week, getting back in the win column witha 25-19 victory over the Donut Villa. In the only other game Leitz lost to Ogilvie Mills 17-7. Dan Hen- derson cranked out a homerun for Leitz in the losing cause.
