EE by RON HAMELIN To the citizens of Tiny Township: I am taking this opportunity to express my position on certain key issues facing our Township. The attempted an- nexation of our lands by the Town of Midland was met with relative success but at a cost. Not only will the ratepayers of Midland eventually have to pay dearly for this ill con- ceived move but of more importance to us is the loss of time, op- portunities and jobs which this annexation attempt has caused by stopping development and frustrating the rate payers in this area. I will spare no efforts to regain our position and will discuss, if required, without the shadow of the Province over- us, real or imagined problems along Highway 93 with Midland officials as we have done so with our other neighbours. A great part of our shopping dollars are going elsewhere, why not keep them here? Especially when development can occur now without urban services. Little Lake is not being polluted from our side and I would certainly see to it that it never would in the future. Another matter which is before us is the care and use of our shoreline. We are blessed with one of the most beautiful recreation area in this country and I believe it should be enjoyed by people from all over, but not indiscriminately. problems of traffic, unsanitary practices, vandalism, drunken- ness, rowdiness and more was being allowed with little or no help from any other authorities save our own resources. We get no outside financial help to Art Stewart promises to work for the people by ART STEWART For the past 10 years I have been a member of Town Council, and six of those years I have had the privilege of being your Reeve, representing Peneta- nguishene at County Council. During my term on Council much has been accomplished in Penetanguishene. Gabe always . \ ie by GABE BRUNELLE I wish to thank Parker Publishing for giving kor, +e x.am'p le : Improved street lighting, resurfacing our streets, new in- stallation of sewers and in 1983 we will start work on the north end, we already have 200,000 dollars in grants allocated for this work. I am Chairman of the Fiienalny ce and Administration on Town Council, andI am also a member of the Finance Committee at County Council. I think we did a good job at keeping our budget down this year and I would like to see it kept at the 1982 level if at all possible. I can't make any promises to you, the voters, that I might be unable to keep. But I do promise to work for the people of Penetanguishene __ to the best of my ability, Brunelle has been involved of them volunteers. We, in the Township of Tiny, have some problems, as most other communities have, like the land fill issue, the annexation and our airport, but the ad- vantages of living in such a beautiful township with our beaches and _ clean country sides and villages sure make up for those problems. The people of the Township can be proud of its office staff and leaders, such as Morris Darby, who are always open to the people's opinions and willing to listen and discuss these matters. It has been. my privilege and pleasure to serve all the people of "Tiny" in the past and hope to continue in the future. Thank you and be sure to vote. maintain our shoreline and its facilities. I therefore support the principle of selective access to our beaches where, in time, there can be adequate parking, pedestrian walks, clean beaches, sanitary facility and an adequate support staff. This all takes money which can only come from your taxes, and it also takes time to organize and_ im- plement. I have worked very hard at these projects and I would appreciate being able to continue. With your help, input and patience listen with an open mind. and to always I have lived in Penetanguishene for 42 years and would like to see us keep our own identity and our own council, I would not like to see Regional Government take that away from us. The place to fight this is at County Council with a strong and ex- perienced voice, and with your help and support I would be able to do this. I would like to thank you for your support. in past elections and would appreciate your support again on Nov. 8, to re- elect me for Reeve of Penetanguishene. Ron Hamelin: sets out the issues we can have facilities at our beaches to be proud of. I have for many years and, with your votes, will continue to support good, practical, and up to date land use plan- ning. It is a thankless never ending task but it must be done with the seriousness it deserves. It would seem that we must have all these planning rules and regulations otherwise chaos would rule but I do believe in making them as humane as possible. The Township of Tiny has the dubious distinction of having a leaky sanitary land fill I do believe in a joint effort with our neigh- boring municipalities to have our own site where we can_ personally supervise its operation. I believe it is better to have one well organized site for six municipalities than six sites which may or may not -be well maintained save our own. There are many other issues and problems of equal importance that will confront your next Council I fee! confident that I can meet and help to solve these problems to our benefit. RE-ELECT site. I have demanded an answer to _ this problem from _ the authorities having jurisdiction for some JOHN time with frustrating A ¥ LACKIE results.
