Quarterback Vince Ladouceur, engineered the attack against the Strikers who have had one of the stingiest defenses in the league this year. Ladouceurs aerial attack combined with his scrambling runs from the shotgun formation literally ripped apart the Strikers defense. Maurice Pauze hauled in a Ladouceur strike for the first major of the match. After the Strikers punted the ball away on third and ten situation deep in their own zone, Ben Pauze made a spec- tacular diving catch of another Ladouceur bomb to give the Huronia Optical squad a 12 point ad- vantage before the game was five minutes old. Ladouceur rambled for a major in the second quarter with a convert by Ben Pauze. The Opticians held a 22-0 lead at the half. Strikers didn't get untracked at all during the opening half as the Huronia Optical defense didn't let them out of their own end until late in the second quarter. The Strikers started a come back in the third quarter with Fred, Lorette and Rick 'Perkie' Buttineau crossing the Opticians goal line. Lorette added a two point convert. Maurice Pauze, scoring his second td of the match, and qb Ladouceur countered with majors for Huronia Optical while Norm Ladouceur snagged a two point and a single point convert to give the Opticians the victory and a shot at the Commodore Redkins in next weeks final. Redskins plucked the tail feathers out of the Brooklea Eagles with a 28-0 drubbing. Dave Ogilvie counted a major.and a two point convert for the Redskins while other tds went to John Brown, Frank Milli;an and Jeff Attwood. Davé Mink picked up a two point convert. The 'B' Division title match will see the Guzzlers facing the Cumming-Nicholson Stompers. Dan O'Hara and Rick Mayer scored td's for the Guzzlers as the elbow-benders shut down the Unknowns 15-0. Terry King grabbed a convert for the Guzzlers. - Jim Patchell of the Stompers caught three td passes from qb Steve Dunn as the Stompers stomped all over the Raiders 30-18. The Stompers held a 22-6 lead at the half but the Raiders turned on the jets to come up with two td's early in the third frame to narrow the margin to 22-18. But the Stompers came back with an in- surance td in the final quarter to snuff out the Raiders hopes for a slot in the finals. Dunn counted a major and a pair of two point converts and Paul Chambers added another two pointer. John Swales, Terry Spiker and Kim Ormiston scored for the Raiders. In the 'C' Division semi matches, the Hawks slipped by the Renegades 7-0 with Rick Dorion scoring the major. The Hawks will be facing the Midnite Express in next weeks final as the Express tamed the Broncos 13-6. Charlie Dyer and Ken Duval counted majors for the Express while speedy Ernie Desroches replied for the Broncos. The Hawks-Midnite Express game will start at 12:00 noon next Sunday for the 'C' Division title. The 'B' group championship between the Guzzlers and the Cumming-Nicholson Stompers will kick off at 1:15 and the 'A' Division crown will go at 2:30. All games will be played at PSS.
