Thousands of Canadians still recall this great event when 10,000 Scouts from 50 countries camped together for the first time a World Jamboree had been held outside of Europe. Now, some 28 years later, Canada has the privilege of hosting the 15th World Jamboree at Kananaskis Country Alberta. We are in- deed honoured not only to host an Inter- national event of this mangitude, but also to do so in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of A World Jamboree, regardless of its physical location, is very unlike a national jamboree. It will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for boys, which will bring real meaning to the term "World Brotherhood". This World Jamboree will see. up to 15,000 participants from some 115 countries or territories. It will include girls as many world Scout organizations are now co-ed. Scouting has always stressed the fact that it knows no barriers of race, culture, language or faith and a World Jamboree is an excellent example of Scouting brotherhood. There are some traditional items which are not featured at other jamborees such as a major arena, a skills display area, a camp- wide game to mix participants and increased sub-camp responsibilities. In total contrast to CJ '81 there will be less laid-on central program in favour of spon- taneous activity in the sub-camps. Each sub- camp will be the site of informal activity, sports, entertainment, dances, sing. songs, demonstrations and talent exhibits. A significant difference, in addition to the international flavour, village of marquees known as the "'Gateway to the World"' of Scouting. Here Scouts from every land can meet, perience radio and electronics, exchange stamps and badges and much more! The 15th World Jamboree will feature participants from around the world to take part in an adventure of world unity and Scout brotherhood in an atmosphere of fun, good fellowship, challenge and achievement. Don't let your boys miss this once in a Remember--Groups may make their own travel arrangements. Those who wish to go on the Provincial Plan will pay $520 for complete travel cost coverage from the departure point to the Jamboree site and return to the While quotas for each district have been set, any boy who meets the criteria should be permitted to attend.
