Council supports Lafontaine Seniors Township of Tiny council received a letter of thanks from Mrs. Helene Desroches, treasurer of Lafontaine Senior Citizens, Club. Council also set the interim tax levy at 50 percent of last year's mill rate. Airport Master Plan studied Huronia Airport Manager Steven Quaife has sent a copy of the Huronia Airport Master Plan to Council, soliciting their com- ments. Council passed on the report to Roger Robitaille, the town- ship's planning director, Jan. 20, al 8 o'clock. St. John's Anglican Church Vestry meeting will be held on Wed- nesday, Jan. 18, at the chureh at 7:30. The ACW held their January ineeting at the home of Mary Kendrick. Skating Club dance Elmvale Figure Skating Club is holding a dance on Saturday, Jan. 28 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.in. The dance will be held at the community hall with musie provided by the Northern Edition. There will be a lunch provided as well awarded. Tickets can be purchased for $6 per person and are Hardware, 1362. as a cash bar. Monster Bingo Knights of Columbus will be holding a Monster Bingo on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Canadian Legion in Barrie. There will be a jackpot worth $1,500. There wil! also be two special games each worth $150: 14 regular games at $50 each and five early-bird games for a total of $150. Altogether, over $2,700 must go. The price is $3 a book of 11 sheets with three games per sheet for all the above games. Players may Council meeting The next meeting of the Simcoe County Council will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the Administration Centre in Midhurst. Maple Syrup meeting The Maple Syrup Festival Committee will be holding a general meeting 0n Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 7:30 p.m. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss new ideas and put forth suggestions. The location of this meeting will be in the Village Council Chambers above the community hall. Everyone is invited to at- tend. use chips or dabbers. Euchre! Bicentennial Grant Pine 'Ridge Women's Institute of Wyevale requested. a grant of $100 from the Township to support their Bicentennial project. Pine Ridge W.I. plans to make a wall hanging and to plant a white pine or maple tree in their Centennial garden, to cominemorate Onta- rio's Bicentennial year. Council approved a grant of $100, which will be paid when the province sends _ its Bicentennial grant to Tiny, which is expected in the amount of $5,300. slection of officers was as follows: President - Coreen Tatton; Vice- Pres. - Mary Kendrick; Secretary - Fay Craig; Treasurer - J0yce Sinton; Social Service - Helen Booth. It was decided to purchase wool to make lap robes for some of the local nursing homes. The afternoon was_ spent quilting. This community was saddened by the death, al Royal Victoria Hospital, of Islay Emery (Mrs.: Telf. Emery, the former Islay Hili). Mrs. Einery tiad been a patient in hospital! for many iionths. She came to Craighurst as a_ bride almost forty years ago. She was a faithful supporter of Knox Presbyterian Church, and beloved by all her neighbours in the village. Her funeral was held from Lynn funeral Home, Elm- vale, on Friday, Jan. 13. Mrs. Lorne Handy has returned to her home in Barrie after spending three weeks with her daupher, Mrs. Max Craip.
