Deadly sincere about these fatal stats: OPP Figures released by the OPP's Community Services Branch show the month of July continues to be a deadly one when it comes to fatal traffic accidents. In July of 1979 a total of 137 people were killed on provincial highways. A year later in 1980 a total of 182 met untimely deaths. 1981's July figures show 173 were killed while 1982's (July) death total stood at 137. Obituary Reta Jordan The death occurred on April 25, 1984, in Penetanguishene General Hospital, of Yonge Street, Elmvale resident Reta Mae Jordan. The former Reta Fleming was 66. Born in Phelpston, the daughter of Thomas and Alice Fleming was married to Stanley Lloyd Jordan. Her husband survives her, as do her son Charles and her daughters Ermalene (Mrs. Donald Burns), Lorraine (Mrs. Robert Potter), and Pamela (Mrs. Warren Easton), also her brothers and sisters James, Walter, Gordon, Elvin, Grace Priest, and Dorothy Erickson. Reta Jordan had eight grandchildren. Her grandson Douglas Burns predeceased her in 1981. A funeral service was held in Elmvale on April 28. Interment in Elmvale.
