Harvey Mann pitched Thursday's game and did an excellent job on the mound, striking out eight. His only mistake in the 3-0 loss was one pitch he threw in the sixth inning, which was promptly placed over the leftfield fence, for Phelpston's three runs. Bruce Guthrie pitched in Midland's 4-3 loss on Sunday and he too did an excellent job on the hill. Guthrie struck out seven. Terry Spiker led the offense with two however, errors the rbi's, proved costly to Firebirds. Gary Minnings was the hero for the Phillies, as he drove home the winning run, to give them the victory.
