E.R Six teams BONNIE ORR This year there are six enthusiastic teams playing in the Elmvale Bush League. The teams are the Elmvale_ Steelers, Minesing Islanders, Phelpston, Wyevale Hawks, Oro and Perkinsfield. On Thursday, Oct. 25, the teams came together at the Elmvale arena to plan an ex citing second time in the season. The first game was played by the Elmvale Steelers against the Minesing Islanders. Bill Luck, from Minesing, got the first goal. When Joe Belesky of Elmvale was in the penalty box, Gary Hansford, from Minesing got the 2nd goal on a power-play. Elmvale's first and only goal came from Doug McMann. in Bush League for the upcoming season Ross Downey, Lou Priest, Brad Adams, and Paul Priest of Minesing, all showed their determination in each getting a tally for their team. Tim McGinnis from the Elmvale Steelers team, was out of the line up. The team hopes to see him back playing this Thursday. Steelers coach is Larry Fallon. The Managers are Dan McGinnis and Paul Jamieson. The final score of the game was Minesing 6 Elmvale 1. The second game of the evening was played by Phelpston and the Wyevale Hawks. Phelpston's first goal was scored by Lenny Wright. Wyevale came back quickly with Wayne Jixon finding the target. Other teams that were beaten by the Crusaders were Banting, Wood- bridge and Eastview again in the semi-finals. In the finals Crusaders met up with MSS Marauders again. This time St. T's came out on top beating MSS 15-4 and 15-10. Crusaders forced MSS into making passing mistakes while the tired MSS spikers were not able to mount a serious attack. Crusaders and Marauders meet again tomorrow at the zone championships at Park Street in Orillia.
