Bradford scored first, moving the ball well on their first possession. The two point con- version was blocked and on the following kickoff, Penetang engineered a similar drive. The touchdown was scored by Tim Dion on a 25 yard reverse play. Dean Buckholtz kicked the single point con- version to give Penetang a slim 7-6 lead. The second quarter saw both teams move the ball well with neither team being able to score. Penetang came close in the final minutes of the half as they drove to _ the Bradford 5 yard line. However, a _ missed pass interference call and an illegal procedure penalty on Penetang stopped the drive just short of the goal. In the third quarter, Bradford took ad- vantage to the wind and their excellent kicking to keep the Redskins trapped deep in their own end. A short Penetang punt which hung up in the wind, brought a no yards call, moved Bradford to the Redskin thirty yard line. From there, Bradford drove the ball over for the eventual game winning touch- down. During the fourth quarter, Penetang tried several times to move the ball. However, a series of penalties, and an injury to quar- terback Yen Fook Lo killed the drives. With the Redskins threatening on _ the Bradford 20 yard line, the clock ran out and Bradford moved on to Kings win easily 9-1 over f Shamrocks ARNOLD ontney Penetang general manager Peter Dubeau was a little surprised his team had little difficulty in putting away the Parry Sound Shamrocks 9-1 at the Penetang Arena Friday night. Even though the Shamrocks were without their big shooter, Todd Beasley, Dubeau expected more of Parry Sound. Scott Boyd scored unassisted on the power play of 3:04 of the first period. Warren Hart made the score 2-0 three minutes later from Dean Robertson and Dan Archer. Shamrocks' Jim Campbell tallied on a power play effort at 15:06, but Rob Raeburn got that one back for the Kings 14 seconds later, ona play from Boyd and Alex McCarl. Penetang tallied twice within two minutes early in the second as Archer from Raeburn attempt the finals. Redskins finished the season with a record of 6 -1. Many of the players will be returning next Simcoe County year to play on a senior team. This year's ex- perience will probably make them contenders for the senior title next year. Therrien's lose first of season Dwayne Storey, with a goal and three assists, led Hindson Marine to a 6-2 win over Com- modore Hotel in Penetang Recreational Hockey League action at the Penetang Arena Sunday morning. Other Hindson marksmen were Jerry Lethbridge, Greg St. Amant, Marcel Vallee, Ken Edgar, and Steve St. Amant. Brian Lacroix and Bob Monteith replied for the Hotel. Monteith started the year off on a tear, but has cooled off somewhat of late. More production from the stick of the big rugged skater and less penalties will be required for the team to move up in the stan- dings. Huronia Optical kept their unbeaten record intack as they skated to a 7-4 win over Therrien's Furniture. Steve Kennedy: popped a pair of goals for the victors, with single markers coming off the sticks of Russ Coull, Claude Archer, Bruce Guthrie, Gary Han- sford, and Gary Preston. Bill Arbour tallied twice for Therrien's, while Steve Buttineau and Martin Maheu_ added singles. Game three saw G. Willicers Sports Bar double the score on Pollard's Refridger- ation 8-4, led by the four point performance, including two goals, of Dave Robillard. Jim Monteith also picked up a pair of markers, apparently taking over the family scoring honors. Frank Hall completed the trio of two goal scorers, while Rick Desjardins and Pierre Genier got into the act with one each. Indusmin Bantams take two weekend contests Midland Indusmin Bantams faced Bolton at Midland Arena, Saturday afternoon, in Georgian Bay Minor Hockey League action.. After watching a 3-1 second period lead flitter away, Midland was fortunate to pull of a 4-3 victory. Ted French gave Indusmin a first period 1-0 lead assisted by Mike Larmand and Bill Meridis. Bolton tied the game in the second, but Midland came right back with two more. John Richardson from Greg Lalonde and Ted French from Larmand gave the locals a 3-1 ST-R-E-T-C-H your decorating budget with LAMERS xy. B of the week! lead going into the third period. Bolton's Norm Tobin brought the Huskies to within a goal in the final frame before teammate Rick Powder recorded his second tally of the contest to knot the score at 3-3. Robertson tallied on the power play and Boyd notched his second of the game at 19:05 to end the second. Boyd recorded a hat trick opening the third, with help from Steve Bauchman and Raeburn at 6:07. Robertson completed the scoring with a tally at 16:04, his second of the night, on a play with Stu Restrup and Brad Denis. Penetang outshot their guests 39-18. Matt Hinds made a rare start in the Kings' net sub- bing for the injured Kevin Steele who was in uniform on the bench. Steele is expected back in about a week. In the meantime, Hinds may get two or three more starts. Penetang was assessed 35 minutes in penalties with Parry Sound spending 36 minutes in the penalty box. Dubeau commented that "the team is starting to play together' and that he expects the team "'will do well against Stayner." The Kings played in Stayner last night and will host them this Friday 8:30 at the Penetang Arena.
