Chris Howard fires winner in comeback win Penetang Atoms totally outclassed Midland Little General in North Simcoe House League action on the weekend by an 8-2 count. Penetang took a 3-1 first period lead on goals by Jason Dorion with two, and Donald Pauze. Mark Raven accounted for Midland's tally. Pauze notched the only tally for Penetang in the second frame. Penetang came back with four in a row in the third before Keith Duval notched Little General's last tally with just 24 seconds remaining. In the Peewee division, Midland Marlin Travel Major Peewees will face Alliston for the right to advance to the International Finals in Port Huron, Michigan. Indusmin Bantams went through the three- game round-robin without a defeat but were edged out by East Gwillimbury, five points to four. East Gwillimbury's opposition will be Aurora Legion. The end to end play was fast and close and the first two periods remained scoreless. At the 6:57 mark of the third period, Karen Graham scored on a pass from Jennifer Legault and Maureen McKinnon to open the play. McKinnon assisted by Graham scored again three minutes later to make the score 2-0. The visitors finally got one by goalie Gayle Hamelin with three minutes remaining in the game. But the Petras were not finished as Graham scored with three seconds left in the game, assisted by McKinnon and Janice Holmes, to close the game with a 3-1 score in favour of the Petras.
