Ross and Sheila Hawkins dominated the aternoon contract session with a score of 81 victory points. John Dowling, Frances: Barrett were second with 69. Friedel and Peter Shaw tied with Mabel Dolan, Clara Meek, with 66. Other scores were Stan Frankland, Lloyd Attridge (65); Anne MacBean, David Parker (44); Verna Williams, Pheasant. The evening open pairs game welcomed two pairs playing at the club for the first time, who promptly obtained first and second place in the play. Jim and Joan Green of Orillia plac- ed first with 64 per cent; Pat and Larry Bowers wu Midland were second with 60. Tennis The Midland District Tennis Club will be of- ficially ending their year of operation with an Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 7 at the Midland Civic Centre beginning at 7:30 p.m. The Club was orgartized in September of last year and had 23 register for Winter Tennis and 97 for Summer Tennis. The Club will continue its associa- tion with the Ontario Ten- nis Association and hopes to establish closer links with the Simcoe County Tennis Association in the upcoming year. As with any community organization, the Annual Meeting is the opportunity to review the past year and look forward to the future by gathering the ideas and setting priorities.
