PGH final 75th birthday celebrations Saturday Penetanguishene General Hospital's (PGH) 75th anniversary celebra- tions climaxed this weekend with an open house and tea, thanksgiv- ing service and dinner par- ty at the Highland Inn. Saturday's festivities began at 2 p.m., when hospital staff served tea to approximately 50 people, including Cathy Furlong, who gave birth to twins Wendy and Sarah on the hospitals 75th birthday, April 19. At the tea _ party, obstetrics nurse Vera Schuster presented an- niversary and birthday spoons to the Furlong twins, Wendy and Sarah. As well, tours of the hospital were available, and each unit had special displays documenting changes made in the past 75 years in medicine and in the PGH. At 4 p.m., at St. Ann's Church, Auxiliary Ar- chbishop of Toronto, the Most Reverend Leonard Wall celebrated the eucharist. In his homily, Wall praised the Grey Sisters, who took over the hospital in 1942 for their commitment to caring. for the whole person - physical, emotional and spiritual. Wall also defined what he thought profes- sionalism should mean: he said it's not only training and skill, but also a pro- clamation or announcement. "Profession as expertise and profession pro- clamation can be divorced wthout damage to, if not destruction of, the whole truth," he said. "To be skillful experts with lit- tle faith professionally is merely being lukewarm St. Margaret St. Margaret's Catholic Women's League Christmas bazaar will be held on Nov. 8 between 10 ai ANG 2) Dele Liat Margaret's Parish Hall, Hugel Avenue, Midland.
