Marauders to send full team to Oshawa Midland Secondary School Marauder Track Team qualified 44 athletes for Wednes- day's GBSSA Track Meet in Oshawa at the Zone II Track Meet held at Orillia District Collegiate and Vocational Institute last Thursday. Host ODCVI emerged overall winners on the day edging MSS. John Richardson established a new midget record in the 100 meter with an amazing time of 11.06 seconds. He also broke the long jump record with a mark of 5.99m. Mike Player drove the junior boys hurdles to a new mark of 15.20 seconds breaking a 17 year old record. Brad Price once again set a senior boys tri- ple jump mark of 13.56 m while cohort Ed Richardson tied the senior boys 100m record of 11.1 seconds. Full Stride Midland Secondary School Marauders put on a strong performance at the Zone II Track at Field Meet Thursday in Orillia. Marauders placed second to a very strong ODCVI squad. There were 23 girls and 21 boys from MSS Helen Georgas established a new mark in the girls' triple jump, a new event for the girls. Other good performances were turned in by Jennifer Currie with three second place finishes in senior girls' shot put, discus and javelin. John Gibson finished first in the junior boys triple jump, second in the high jump and third in the long jump. Don Monteith was second in the junior boys 100m and 200m. Jon Poole came first in midget boys pole vault and 800m and second in the 400m. One of the best perfortnances of the day was turned in by a make shift midget girls relay team. Margaret Ann Bourgeois, Jenny Ferris Janet Lewis and Tracy Dollimount had great hand offs scorching the track to a first place finish. who qualified to participate in the GBSSA Meet Wednesday in Oshawa.
