Jim Faragher paced the attack with 33 points while team- mate Walter Stewart added 32. Yen Ming Lo con- tributed 21 to the winning cause. Jason Bennet tallied 29 points and teammate Kyle Jerry recorded 21 for Providence. UNLV narrowly escaped with a win over Kansas by a 73-71 score. Andy Bowers enjoyed another big game with 33 points for UNLV. Rio Utahara match- ed the output for Kansas with Chris King adding 23. North Carolina Tar Heels worked over Iowa Hawkeyes to the tune of 93-70. Dave Duval struck for 39 points with Sean Lavin hooping 24 and John Brobbin 20 for the Tar Heels. Chris Bales checked in with 25 for Iowa and Jason Morrow 21. Notre Dame dropped their seventh contest of the season with a 78-70 loss to Indiana to remain winless. Keith Robillard sunk 25 points and Tim Boettger 22 enroute to the win. Dan Sibley responded with 29 for the Fighting Irish. a second place finish in the 400 m.
