Any bridge player who is not ranked as a Life Master by the ACBL is eligible to play. All players receiving masterpoint awards qualify to play in the unit final. In addition, a pair quali- fying at the club level may receive an expense-paid trip to the North American finals. The lucky pair will be chosen by lot. Players, whether qualified or not, may play again at any club holding this qualifying heat, and win part red and part black at 63 per cent of Sectional Rating. TRW defeats Rustlers The Huronia Slow-Pitch League saw four games take place on Friday, Aug. 7. Here are the results: Game one saw the top two defensive teams take the field with TRW defeating Rx Rustlers by the score of 6 to 5. Game two saw Ray Matt Insurance defeating the Techform Eagles by the score of 6 to 4. Game three Record Five new records were set at Penetanguishene's Summerama Rotary Club McFun run last weekend. Paul McAtamrey from Brampton set a new record in the Junior male division with a time of 33 minutes and 50 seconds. Toronto's Peter Boross recorded the best time of the day in the 10 kilometer race with a blistering 30:51. Local favorite Dr. Josef Dolezel registered a new record in the Master Male division with a clocking of 35:20. Donna Sawchyn of Etobicoke recorded 38:21 in the open female class and Mary Schooff went in the record books in the master female group with a time of 53:31. In the five kilometer saw Waubaushene IGA play host to Realty World. In this game, Waubaushene won as Realty World was again convicted of using an illegal player. The final score was Waubaushene 7, Realty World 0. Game four saw a relaxed TRW defeat a team by the score of 7 to 0 as Dynasty could not field a team. Playoffs are due to start today. The first round is the best two our of three. In Series A, it's TRW vs Ogilvies. Series B has Marlin Travel vs Waubaushene IGA. Series C has the Techform Eagles vs Chez Henri. And Series D has Ray Matt Insurance vs Rx Rustlers. Note: the home run leader was Rob Furtin with 12 home runs. Furtin will win the trophy sponsored by Wye Valley Amuse- ment. Furtin played for Marlin Travel. settlers in run race, Stuart Andrews of Toronto copped the junior male title with a time of 21:20, while Brian Lansdowne of Guelph finished first in the open Palmer male at 18:22. Jennifer Knowles was the winner in the open female class coming in at 20:39 and Jacob Draga won the master male in 21:27. wins Emu Trophy A large field of ladies played for the '"'Emu Trophy" this week. The Australian Wine Company, Emu donated a trophy and a basket of wine for play ten years ago and have been very supportive. This year's winner was Eleanor Palmer with a fine 68 net. Runner-up was Eileen Denny followed by Jean Hartman. A hearty welcome to Ber- nie Travers and Pat Lafaive who joined us this week. Also it's nice to have a group of nine-holers follow our regular pack of eigh- teen hole players.
