Dick and Jim Vollick have both served for over forty years. Dick has been the fire chief for the past 30 years. Col- umbus also received the honour of being Elmvale's Citizen of the Year. He has provided the leader- ship and concern that is necessary for a good fire chief. Thank You to Dick Columbus and ALL our volunteer firemen! Sponsored by Elmvale Kevin Fleming Twenty-five year old Kevin Fleming has been a volunteer firefighter for 2 years. Kevin is an employee of Coram and Moreau Electric in Midland. With the department for 28 years, of which he has been deputy chief for 19, Alex runs his family business, Currie Motors. George Pearson George is one of the veterans with the Elmvale Fire Department. For the past 27 years, George has been putting out fires. When he takes off his fire helmet, he dons his butcher's apron for Perkin's Brothers Butchers. Clarence Fagan member of the Elmvale Volunteer Fire Department. Russ lists his leisure time interests as fishing and golfing, though not necessari- ly at the same time. Doug Coulter Elmvale resident, Doug Coulter, is relatively new to the department; (compared to Dick Columbus, Alex Currie, Donald Fiegehan, Stan Rit- chie, Lou Turner, George Pearson, Lorne Rance, Paul Tripp and Jim | Vollick, who have a total service of _ | 279 years). The four year man with | the department is 39 and works at § General Tire in Barrie. Doug is a boy scout leader in his spare time. Russ Ritchie Russ Ritchie is a 14 year member of the department. When he is not fighting fires or slugging bricks, Doug keeps active by playing broomball for Medonte. Doug's wife Denise is expecting a child in March.
