Special events on Dec. 23 highlight the season. Inter- nationally renowned festival performer Bill Russell is featured in two special performances for families. The first, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. is a concert geared to people under 9 years. With Just for Fun, Bill Russell invites his au- dience to take part in an ac- tive program of song and play. With snippets from his childhood, a loop of string, some French songs from his native Louisiana, Bill gets children and adults laughing and sing- ing. Audience size is limited to 150, so reserve your tickets early: $3 for Js adults and $1.50 for children. Next in the program is String Games for Begin- ners, from 1 to 2 p.m. When Bill Russell teaches the fascinating art of mak- ing string figures and tricks, everyone has fun. This activity is meant for people over nine years old, and pre-registration is a must, as numbers are limited to 50 people. Again, the ticket price is $3 for adults and $1.50 for students and children. Every day will be fun over the school break days at the wildlife centre. The children's program will be different each day, so you can choose one day or en- joy spending the whole break at Wye Marsh.
