The MAC International Friendship Games will happen on July 9 and 10. MAC stands for Midland and Canandaigua. Canandaigua is a com- munity of 10,000 abut 30 miles southwest of Rochester. The 6,000 hot dogs and hamburgers can be pur- chased up to 8 p.m. on Fri- day at the club's annual holiday barbecue at the Midland town dock. The sale of the raffle tickets will stop at 4 p.m. The winner of the prize, a cottage on the shore of Kettle's Beach, will be announced then. As of last Friday about 3,500 of the 6,000 $100 tickets had been sold. '"'We expect to sell out,' Club President Des Carpenter said. "The cottage draw is a success,' Jamie Hunter, the Rotarian in charge of the Canada Day organiza- tion, said. '"The question is, how much of a success."' The cottage draw is the most ambitious fundraiser in the club's history, he said. The break-even point was passed at $300,000. When the club announc- ed its fundraising idea, it said that half of the profit will be donated to Huronia District Hospital's capital fund. The other profit will be spent on other local good causes. The barbecue at the town dock runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Michel Paiement (of Lafontaine) and his band will play music starting at 2 'ptm. The Boatworks Restaurant will be operating a beer garden. The HMS Bee and its gig will arnive from the Historic Naval and Military Establishments in the afternoon. Other groups will have displays. A candy floss machine will be at the dock. Cottage draw tickets can in the Midland Chamber of be purchased on Canada Commerce office and on location on the town dock. Day.
